- The smart colour system displays when the child can get up
- Clock, alarm and night light
- Perfect for early morning children
Sam the Sheep is a smart sleep trainer with a clock that shows when the child should keep sleeping and when it's time to get up. The sleep trainer's backlit display has three different lights that make it easy for the child to see how long it is until it's time to get up. Perfect for kids who wake up early in the morning!
Young children don't always have the same perception of time as adults and it can be difficult to know whether to get up or go back to sleep. But instead of your little one coming in and waking you up at five in the morning, they can look at the colour to see if it's time to get up or not.
Red display at night, go back to sleep
In the evening when the clock strikes bedtime, the clock's display turns red and the sheep closes its eyes. If the child wakes up early or in the middle of the night, they can (without being able to tell the time) see on the display that it is still lit red, that the sheep has its eyes closed and knows to go back to sleep.
Orange display, just a little more
30 minutes before the child can get up, the display changes colour to orange and shows that there isn't much time left before the child can get up. The sheep's eyes are still closed, but the 12 small stars on the display disappear one by one and help the child count down the time until the display turns green.
Green light, time to get up
When it's time to get up, the display changes to a green light and the sheep opens its eyes. It will be easy for the child to know that they can now get up and play, wake their siblings or go and wake their parents.
Nightlight
The backlit display can either be switched off after a preselected number of minutes, or continue to light up and remain a safe nightlight all night.
Napping timer
For short naps in the middle of the day, you can set a nap timer between a 30-180 minute interval. The timer is separate from the fixed night alarm and is convenient to use during the day when sleeping hours may not occur at exactly the same time each day.
Alarm signal
The alarm signal is set separately from the sleep training function. You can set if you want it to ring at the same time as the display turns green or if it rings after a few minutes.
Other settings
Both brightness, volume and alarm signal can be changed. The clock also has a child lock that switches itself on after 30 seconds and prevents the child from accidentally changing the settings.
Power
The sleep trainer comes with a USB cable (USB wall adapter not included) that you can plug into any USB socket. The watch also has a battery cover with space for 4 AA batteries (purchased separately). It is also recommended to use batteries as the clock can reset if the child pulls out the cord.
Developed by two parents of three children
Sam the sleep coach was developed by the two Dutch innovators Nynke Bakker and Sven van der Veen, two grandparents who in 2013 decided to start ZAZU, their own brand with smart gadgets that help both children and parents to get a better night's sleep.
