The Turfquick decomposable landscape stakes are environmentally friendly and have been designed to secure various types of landscape fabrics safely. The stakes are made of 100% decomposable bioplastic and are perfect for securing Turfquick's various landscape fabrics and lawns, flowerbed mats and lettuce mats.
The decomposable stakes work wonderfully on both soft lawns and hard soils. The unique shape ensures that they get a firm grip in the ground and stay in place even if there is a strong wind. The landscape stakes can also be used to secure various kinds of frost protection fabrics, erosion protection, weed fabrics and any other fabrics you do not want the wind or rain to remove.
The landscape stakes are made of 100% decomposable bioplastic (PHA) made of plant-based materials such as wheat and potato starch. Once you have stuck the stakes in the ground, they slowly start to decompose into microscopic coal and plastic particles. The coal then decomposes the plastic, leaving only carbon dioxide, water and the biological material that the stakes are made of.
Heat, direct sunlight and chemicals in the earth may affect and prolong the process, but generally stakes decompose in about 12-18 months. The stakes start decomposing when they come into contact with moisture or soil, so if they are stored in a dry place they can be stored indefinitely.
Turfquick's decomposable landscape stakes are made in Sweden and meet the standards for decomposable materials according to ASTM D6400 (USA) and EN13432 (Europe).
