Homemade mayonnaise is always the best, and with a mayonnaise whisk, it's easy to make at home! The ingredients mix fast and the mayonnaise is ready in minutes!
The whisk is attached to the lid that you later screw on to the jar. First, you whisk the yolks together (with mustard if you want) by repeatedly pushing down the whisk using the handle. Make sure the entire whisk gets pushed down to the bottom of the jar.
The bowl-shaped lid has a small drainage hole that makes sure the oil drips slowly. Pour oil to the edge of the two holes on the sides. As soon as you fill the lid with oil, you can go back to the whisking to mix the oil with the pre-whisked yolks.
In just a few minutes the mayonnaise is done and ready to be flavoured with lemon, salt & pepper. Serve the mayonnaise in a fancy bowl or directly from the jar!
Tip! Prepare all the ingredients in advance; it will get much easier to succeed when whisking together ingredients that are at room temperature.
1. Place the room temperature yolks (and possibly mustard) in the jar and screw the lid back on. Whisk thoroughly for about 50-60 seconds.
2. Pour oil in the lid up to the edges of the two holes and continue to whisk thoroughly for about 50-60 seconds.
3. Repeat step 2 until all oil is mixed in and the mayonnaise is done. Add lemon, salt, and pepper to taste.
The whisk is made out of stainless steel and can be washed in the dishwasher together with the glass jar. The lid and the whisk are one piece, so you either have to store the mayonnaise in another jar or find a lid that fits the mayonnaise jar.
