The environmentally smart laundry bag Guppyfriend catches microplastics that detach from synthetic clothes during washing and reduces the amount of plastic fibers that go into the wastewater. The soft interior also reduces wear and tear on clothes and helps garments last longer. The laundry bag can be used for example polyester, fleece, nylon, and acrylic.
Catches microplastics from clothes
When synthetic clothes are washed, small plastic fibers, known as microplastics, detach and can enter nature with the wash water. Guppyfriend acts as a filter and captures up to 99% of the microfibers that detach during washing. The fibers are collected in the bag and can be thrown in household waste instead of being flushed down the drain.
Gentler wash
The soft interior of the laundry bag reduces friction against garments, resulting in 75 to 86% fewer fibers detaching during washing. This reduces wear and helps clothes last longer. The bag can also be used for natural fiber garments.
How to use the laundry bag
Place the clothes in the laundry bag and fill it to a maximum of half so that the garments can move freely. Close the bag and wash together with similar colors at a maximum of 40 degrees. After washing, remove the clothes and detach the fibers that have collected in the corners and seams of the bag. Discard the fibers in household waste. Do not rinse the bag under running water.
Care instructions
The laundry bag is made of specially woven polyester and should not be tumble dried or ironed. Store it in a dark place when not in use.
