The sun panel lamp, Little Sun, is a bright lamp with a dimmer function that charges with solar energy to shine bright for several hours. Little Sun is perfect for the outdoor life, camping & festivals, but also works just as well as a nightlight at home, in the boat or the camper!
The solar panel stores the energy from the sun's beams very effectively. 5 hours of charging in the sun are equal to 4 hours on the strongest setting (30 lm) and up to 50 hours on the lowest setting (2 lm). Little Sun is waterproof and both UV- and weatherproof. With the string supplied in the package, you can easily hang the solar panel light on a backpack or a branch.
The solar panel lamp is very easy to use. It only has one button, which is used to turn on and off the lamp and to regulate the brightness. By holding down the button you can dim the lighting from bright to less bright. By holding down the button even longer the brightness will revert to maximum brightness.
Let the solar panel lamps charge for 8 hours before using them for the first time. The lamp should preferably be fully charged once a month, and with correct usage, the inbuilt batteries should last for 5 years when used daily. NOTE! The solar panel lamp should be turned off when charging, and when the weather is moody, it will take a longer time for the lamp to charge.
The lamp is produced by the Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson and the engineer Frederik Ottesen to provide light to people in countries with unreliable power supply. The lamp is more expensive in Europe to be able to sell for less in countries like Ethiopia and Zimbabwe. For every Little Sun you buy, you make it possible for someone in a developing country to buy the lamp for a reasonable price.
