Heating Mat for Plants

With a heating mat you can ensure that your pre-planted seeds, seedlings and small plants flourish in their pots and trays whatever the season. The heating mat heats the soil from below, which gives seeds and plants a better chance of sprouting and take root.

Place the heating mat on a flat, dry and heat resistant surface. A wooden bench or a sheet of styrofoam are perfect for this. Make sure that nothing sharp is sticking out of the surface and then put your trays, pots or mini greenhouse in place. Pots and trays with holes in the bottom must have a tray below them. Then plug the heating mat in and you're ready to go!

The heat from the mat slowly warms the soil to about 28 °C. The heat from below helps newly planted plants grow better and more securely, and helps seedlings and small plants set root faster. Depending on the room temperature and the plant pots used, it may take up to two days before the soil reaches the right temperature.

The heating mat is delivered folded up in the packaging and unfolds itself as the heater is plugged in. Always store the mat flat and do not fold it. If you want to clean the mat, wipe it with a damp cloth. Make sure the mat is unplugged before cleaning it.

NB! Do not attach a timer with the heating mat. Timers prevent the heating coils from reaching the right temperature and the coils risk overheating if turned on and off too often. The heating mat is for indoor use only.
