The Skin Agent's Swedish-developed anti-chafing stick for dogs and horses protects sensitive skin and prevents chafing and friction injuries that can occur from blankets, saddles, leashes and other equipment. The water-resistant stick is direct action and is mainly used for preventive purposes but can also be used as an ointment for dry skin and cracked pads.

Direct action and long-lasting effects

The chafing cream provides active protection immediately after application and is long-lasting. The protection is resistant to moisture and sweat and remains in place under high stress. The ointment does not clog pores, allowing the skin to breathe normally.

Application of the chafing cream

Apply a thin layer of ointment to the skin. If the animal has thicker fur, you need to rub the ointment in with your hand so that it reaches the skin. The ointment provides active protection immediately after application and reduces friction from the equipment.

Note that the skin differs even from animal to animal. If the animal's skin is very dry, you may need to apply an extra layer of the anti-chafe. However, a thin layer works better than a thick one, so start thin and only top up if necessary.

Field of application, Dog

The anti-chafing stick is used as a preventive measure to counteract chafing from leashes and harnesses, which is most common in hunting and working dogs. It can also be used on dogs' dry skin, scars, on the stomach, udder, around the genitals and on dry and cracked pads.

Field of application, Horse

Use the anti-chafe stick on the coat for preventive purposes where friction may occur from the equipment. Examples include under blankets, girths, harnesses, halters, bridles, fly hoods and leg guards.

Do I need to top up during the day?

The anti-chafe stick is long-lasting and the need to top up during the day varies from animal to animal and time to time. Usually, a thin layer of the anti-chafing ointment is sufficient throughout the day, but under high stress and friction and if the skin is dry, you may need to apply another thin layer during the day.

The plant-based anti-chafe stick is 100% vegan and organic. Store the stick at a maximum of 35°C, as higher temperatures can cause the stick to soften.
