SmartNote V4 combines the familiar feel of pen and paper with modern digital technology. You write just like usual, while your notes are saved digitally in the app on your mobile or tablet. Write on paper with a digital pen

With SmartNote, you write, sketch, or note formulas on real paper. With the help of icons on the paper, you can also change the text color directly while you write. The smart pen registers every movement and transfers the content to the app via Bluetooth. The notes become digital in real-time or are synchronized later if you write offline. 

This is how SmartNote works

The SmartNote pen is equipped with an advanced IR camera that reads micro-dots in the specially designed paper. Each page in the SmartNote notebook has a unique pattern that is not visible to the eye but allows the pen to accurately register where and how you write. When you move the pen over the page, the movements are recorded digitally and transferred in real-time to the Newyes app via Bluetooth. The result is an accurate digital copy of your handwritten notes, sketches, or formulas, where both pressure, direction, and writing speed are reflected for a natural feel in the app. SmartNote is based on Anoto technology – a Swedish innovation that enables precise digital transfer of handwriting from paper to digital format.

Transcribing handwriting

Your handwritten notes can be converted into clear, digital text with a click. The system supports over 70 languages, including mathematical formulas. It includes languages like Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, and Finnish, as well as English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. The text becomes editable and easy to use in documents, presentations, or sharing.

Automatically save and easily share

Everything you write is automatically saved in the app. You can quickly share your notes via email, SMS, or social media, or export them as PDF or Word documents for further work on a computer. You can even send your digitized notes directly to ChatGPT for help with summaries, calculations, or deepening. SmartNote works with both iOS and Android devices. 

Searchable and organized notes

With a smart search function and tags, you easily find the right note, even in large amounts of material. Perfect for those who want order in meeting notes, lectures, or project ideas.

Wipeable notepaper

The notebook contains 128 pages of wipeable paper, both lined and dotted. Moisten the included cloth or a paper towel to erase and reuse the pages.

Work offline with automatic synchronization

SmartNote does not require a connection while you write. The pen stores the notes and synchronizes them automatically the next time you connect to the app. You don't need to have the mobile or tablet nearby.

Record audio simultaneously

With audio recording linked to your notes, you won't miss anything important. Record meetings or lectures and play back the sound in conjunction with exactly what you wrote at the time.

Focus without screens
